The Samsung led tvs do not have the red/yellow/white hook up but they do have a hdmi, Dvi, Pc/ Dvi, usb, Hdd, and composite cable. Can i buy anything to get my playstation 2 to work with it?

My samsung led tv came with 2 extra cables. You can plug the cables in the tv in what looks like a mic port, and you will then have the red/yellow/white hook up on the other end. The second cable you can plug in is for Component. You should have a picture on the back of the tv where you can see where you should plug in which cable.

I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to this, I know that LCD and Plasma have been out for a while now, as well as DLP. Just recently I saw one of those brand new LED Tvs.

So…which of these would be my ideal choice? I would use it much like anyone else would (gaming, watching blu-ray movies, HD programming, etc.)

Which of these offers the best overall picture quality? What are the strengths and weaknesses with each of these TVs?

Thanks!

In terms of picture quality…Plasma is the best!

Plasma TV’s = super high contrast ratios(2,000,000:1 dynamic; 40,000:1 native), giving you blackest blacks and more vivid and rich looking colors! Also have the fastest response times(.001ms) as well as fastest refresh rates(600hz), making them perfect for fast motion content like sports, movies & gaming. Currently…the only negative with today’s Plasma’s is energy consumption. On average uses the same as regular LCD’s but uses 40% more then LED LCD’s!

LED TV’s = high contrast ratios(3,000,000:1 dynamic; 15,000:1 native). Close to Plasma’s in pic quality(lower native contrast ratios)! However…response times(2ms) and refresh rates(240hz) still slower then Plasma’s! The main negative with LED LCD’s right now is cost! Very, very expensive compared to similar sized Plasma’s and LCD’s!

As for regular LCD’s, they tend to work ok for games as long as they have very fast response times! However, they generally do not come close to Plasma’s and LED’s in black levels or color saturation! They tend to have more ‘greyed’ blacks and washed out colors!

DLP’s on the other hand have very stunning pic qualities like LED’s and Plasma’s! However, they are very problematic and require new expensive lamps every couple thousand hours of use. Making them a bad long term investment!

Dollar for dollar…Plasma TV’s are the best performing HDTV out their right now! Great picture qualities for an affordable price! http://www.plasma-lcd-facts.co.uk/

I want to buy TV (if possible LCD) for my bed room. Budget around Rs 30-35k Rs. My room size if 11-12 and it may increase as I need to buy a home too, although later only may be 5 yrs or so. is 26′ inch is ok or better to go for 32” in this budget. I am middle class salaried person. Sony Samsung LG so many other options exist in India. But donoo what to go for technology (tv/slim tv/ultra slim tv /lcd / led / plasma) brand (sony/samsung/lg etc)

You will have lots of answer, but 1 serious suggestion is that the new age TVs, that is the plasma, LCD, or LED TVs do not have a life of over 5 years.

The best resolution and continuous life for about 15 years is only given by CRT TVs.

Now a days, the CRT TVs are going out of market because of manufacturing costs and profit.

Remember the level clarity, sharpness and resolution or refresh rate and also contrast rate that you will get in a CRT TV can not be achieved by the plasma, LCD, or LED TVs at least in this century.

In CRT TVs buy a tv which has a flat screen and avoid ultra slim as they will be more costly.

You will get CRT TVs from 36cm / 14" to 74 cms / 29".

Lastly, if you think more of style and ego related to the TV than life and clarity of the TV and also that you can buy a TV every 5 years, go for a LCD / LED.

Sony is the best in this class. Go for a HDMI Bravia LCD model. But expensive as well. It comes with a 3 years warranty in India.

LG / Samsung is good and less expensive.

One good news I should give you, people who are into hard core experienced PC gaming, these days they are buying 2nd hand CRT and Projection Monitors, only because, these days very large Monitors of this kind is not any more available and also these give the best satisfaction to gamers.

LED and LCD TV question?

Posted by admin in sony led tv

i am gonna get a new tv soon and i just wanted to know which one is better i am planning to get 32 inch samsung LED or should i buy one of the sony x series, plz tell me any lcd or led tv that are good. I am wanting to buy lcd or led tv from 32 inch to 50 inch. In which i can afford only 1500 dollars less. So plz give me any good hd tv worth to buy first best answer will get 10 points.

an important question is how far away you are sitting from the tv. look up some charts online and find out the ‘proper viewing distance’ for different size tvs.
that will decide what technology you can afford. if you need a 50" tv, then you won’t be able to get LED on your budget
I would by Samsung no matter what. check out their product line at samsung.com and get the best model you can afford for the correct size for your room.

crazy ed makes a good point. If your viewing room is very dark, like a basement, then plasma is probably the best choice. if you have lots of sun or very bright lights, go with led or lcd.

I think this 2 Tvs are very similar, both are LED, HD, 100 Hz, 55 inches.. Sony is more expensive.
Wich is better?
I need help!

This is a really hard question to answer. Both are very good TVs. Samsung has been selling more because they deliver Sony quality (and sometimes better) at a lower price. Personally I prefer Samsung.
In the case of these 2 models, the Samsung is also Internet connected. The other specs are very closely matched. You can’t lose either way!
