I am getting a new TV ( about 19-23 in) and I will be placing it on top of a tall dresser. I’ve noticed some some screens are become dark and hard to watch when viewed from this angel. What type of TV should I get? ( LCD, Plasma, LED, DLP, etc.)
Plasma would be best but they don’t come that small. Only LCDs do, and you won’t be able to see it very well up high. See if you can find a lower position for the tv if at all possible.
I am replacing the 30′ Westinghouse 1080p 120hz Tv in my bedroom. It is bright so I don’t want a Plasma. I have looked at LED and they seem ok, but LCD is more tested. I don’t have a set price but below $1200 is ok below $1000 is great and below $900 is awesome.
Feel Free to make suggestions, just remember these guidelines:
MUST be 240hz
Must be 1080p
Must be LCD/LED (not LG LED)
I don’t care too much about people saying the sound isn’t that great, I have other Toshiba Regzas that sound just fine.
My pick:

you can even consider Samsung LN40B750 40-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LCD HDTV around $1000

i am gonna get a new tv soon and i just wanted to know which one is better i am planning to get 32 inch samsung LED or should i buy one of the sony x series, plz tell me any lcd or led tv that are good. I am wanting to buy lcd or led tv from 32 inch to 50 inch. In which i can afford only 1500 dollars less. So plz give me any good hd tv worth to buy first best answer will get 10 points.
an important question is how far away you are sitting from the tv. look up some charts online and find out the ‘proper viewing distance’ for different size tvs.
that will decide what technology you can afford. if you need a 50" tv, then you won’t be able to get LED on your budget
I would by Samsung no matter what. check out their product line at samsung.com and get the best model you can afford for the correct size for your room.
crazy ed makes a good point. If your viewing room is very dark, like a basement, then plasma is probably the best choice. if you have lots of sun or very bright lights, go with led or lcd.
I’m a TV dinosaur. I’ve still got an old 41" massive TV that you need a forklift to get off the entertainment stand. The ‘off’ button has been broken for years and we’d be out of luck without a universal remote.
I’ve finally decided to upgrade to either a 42", 47" or 50" flat screen. I took one look at the walmart showroom and just about fainted. Information overkill!!
Do I get an LED LCD, LED DLP, Plasma or Laser? Should I get High Definition? Do they come with a DVD player. Which one has the best picture? If it’s HD, can I still get regular cable? Cost is also a factor, but so is quality. I don’t want to buy a cheap Visio 42" and have it break 10 months later when I could’ve bought a Sony for 100 bucks more. Are there any TV Guru’s out there who can help me?
actually, BBuy people-if you can find one-are brainwashed-not trained…you probably wont find a laser anywhere as mitsubishi has terrible production problems…and they are gonna be bigger than 50".
Go to a local dealer and consult with a sales professional. they will find
a tv that best fits your needs, not BestBuy’s.
from samsung sony lg et.
When do you think is the best time to buy?
Is boxing day has the best specials of the year?
Hey, as soon as you buy any electronic item today, it’ll be cheaper tomorrow! If you have an old CRT TV and it works fine, wait.
If you must have a new TV now because you have nothing to watch then buy now on sale.
My choice…wait. But hey, will new LED TVs be more costly when compared to the TVs today? Plasma were $12 000 when they came out! And under what lighting/room/distance/events/programs/etc. conditions do you watch TV? You may find that an old CRT TV is fine for you???
