And if there is not specific tv’s available to those details. What Tv’s are not CCFL backlit. But are RGB back lit or HCFL? .. that i could purchase instead? I only ask this because i want true white light backlighting for true color and contrast.
Lol yeah but bigger = more money, plus more room, im a college student with limited space in my room as well. i could use a wall mount but i would like to stay around 32-40 – 46 would be max max size.

I recommend Samsung UN40C6300 40-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV (Black).

I recently bought the samsung series 6 6300 tv. The picture looks really weird when I stretch the picture to fit the screen so I use the 4:3 size but I was wonder if there was a way to use the whole screen and still have the picture look good. Can anyone help with this?

Where is your TV signal coming from? Are you giving the TV a high def signal?

>I was wonder if there was a way to use the whole screen and still have the picture look good<

Think about this for a moment. If your TV is getting a 16:9 aspect ratio high def picture, it automatically fills the entire screen.

On the other hand, if your TV is only getting a standard def signal, then we know the picture has a 4:3 aspect ratio and you have those empty spaces on the left and right to deal with, which is what you are complaining about.

What can your TV do to deal with that empty space?

The choices are pretty limited. You can expand the entire picture horizontally, which makes everyone look fat or you can expand the entire picture equally, which will cut off information at the top and bottom of the screen. Those are the ONLY choices!

I’m guessing from your question that you are not getting a high def signal from whatever the source is. If nothing else, at least put up an antenna so you can get broadcast high def. Otherwise, you have essentially wasted your money by buying a TV you are not taking advantage of.

What TV(samsung,sony,lg)?

Posted by admin in lg led tv

I got like 700 – 800$ to spend so what should i get sony, samsung, or lg? plasma or lcd or i think there is this new thing called lcd led?

Samsung is your highest rated brand, and in my professional opinion, is the best presently. Sony is a close second though, so you can’t go wrong there either. LG is decent, but is kind of in a mid-high range that shares it’s abilities with Sharp, Toshiba, and Panasonic.

I would go for a Samsung LN40B530 model. It’s a 40" Samsung with a great picture and 1080p capabilities. The only thing it lacks is a 120hz processor which you probably won’t find in that price range anyway unless you are getting a smaller set.

That television is a regular price of 899.99 but you can find it on sale for 799.99 sometimes, and maybe cheaper if you can do a cardholder deal or rebate or something. Best Buy and Sears are both running it at 799.99 right now actually. Check it out sometime in store if possible.

As for the LED sets, with your price range, they’re not something to consider. Samsung is the LED maker right now and they don’t manufacture models smaller than 40" which run around 2,000 dollars. For the time being, unless you have a lot of money to blow, then LED really isn’t an option.

Anyway, hope this helped, I’m open to emails about television questions any time.

i’m doing a long report on an online class, so could someone proofread my paper? i suck at english, and its not one of my best subjects, so sorry if its really bad…i don’t have a job, so the prof. suggested some real world topic, so i picked climate change.don’t worry, i won’t post the whole thing. that would be way too long. for now, i’ll just post the Memo. just use: (CORRECTION),
like if my sentence was:

he have money.
just put:
he have(HAS) money.
please and thank you.

Please review the following information you have requested on 10/31/2008 on climate change, and its effects, and what will happen in the future and how we can slow climate change down.
Climate Change will effect everybody on this planet. If the temperature keeps going up, there could be consequences, even if the temperature goes up by a few degrees, this could led into global problems. There is no way to completely stop it, but there is a way we can slow down the effects of Climate Change.

Most of the solutions are easy to make, and can save people money. we need to have everybody ban together and pitch in, in order to make the changes that need to take place, whether it would be at home, or at a business. Most of the change is just changing to eco-friendly items, like switching to energy star products .Most importantly, we need to get the word out, so everybody can make a difference in our environment, and slow down the effects of climate change.

This however is no easy task, especially if there is no backbone to it. If the government were to make standards, like how we are switching from analog to digital for our TVs, people have no say in it, so they have to do it. We could do the same, help our environment, and slow down climate change.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I was glad to do the research, and a learned a few things. I certainly hope we can get something done about this problem.

cool, thanks for the help, now i have :

I’ve saved up about $2000 to upgrade my old standard 27" to a nice 1080p HDTV to go with my xbox360 and ps3 (and Blu-Ray movies, ps2, etc). I’m currently looking into a 50" and I’m really kinda stuck as far as choosing which type of HDTV to go with. The space it’s going to fit into is an ikea entertainment unit with a space that measures 41"x30"x23". I’ll be sitting in the middle of it (maybe sometimes at a 45° angle) about 6′ away at the most (I have a pretty small room). Is a 50" too big? I just assumed that bigger is better, but will it affect my overall view? Besides that though, i just want a reliable TV that will deliver great picture (and sound, as I don’t have a separate sound system). I’m looking into the LED DLPs, as I don’t want to worry about burn in or changing lamp bulbs, and I hear they offer better picture quality than LCD tvs. As I said, it’ll mainly be for gaming and movie watching, but I do also watch a lot of TV. Can someone help point me in the right direction?

If you’re sitting only 6′ away, I would recommend a TV in the range of maybe 37" at most. a 50" TV from that close of a range will just be too much for your eyes, and end up being a waste of a TV essentially. With that money, you could get a 37" and a decent surround sound system.
